Responsible Business Practice

Responsible business practice is an integral part of the Deutsche Post DHL Group corporate strategy, which states our aspiration of becoming a benchmark company for responsible business.

Our steadfast commitment to economic, social and ecologic sustainability across the Group also helps us meet the expectations of our stakeholders, who increasingly consider responsible business management criteria when choosing Deutsche Post DHL Group as their Provider, Employer and Investment of Choice.

Responsible business practice enables us to

  • contribute to society while creating business opportunity and growth
  • minimize business and financial risk – for both ourselves, our customers, and investors
  • continually build our reputation as a practitioner of responsible business
  • ensure that our business activities adhere to national laws and regulations, ethical standards and international guidelines – something we expect from our suppliers as well.

Responsible Business Practice Network

The most important aspects and issues relating to responsible corporate governance are discussed and coordinated by cross-divisional and cross-functional experts as of the Group-wide Responsible Business Practice (RBP) network. With the help of the materiality analysis, the RBP network identifies focus issues, sets standards and targets, improves the Group's performance in those areas and creates transparency with regard to progress made against our targets.

Members of the RBP network maintain an ongoing dialogue with their respective stakeholders - this ensures that stakeholder expectations in regard to social and environmental issues are accounted for appropriately and that our business is aligned systematically with their interests. Combining sustainability with profitability remains the Group's overarching goal.

The 2019 Sustainability Report shows that every day, our employees bring the world together, united by one common purpose: “Connecting people, improving lives.”
