Since 2014, the club with a record number of German league titles has been relying on DHL's expertise in the areas of international logistics and e-commerce not only for the transportation of equipment to away games in the Champions League and to training camps but also for the successful club's global merchandise shipments.

Beethoven on Tour
To mark Ludwig van Beethoven's 250th birthday in 2020, Deutsche Post DHL Group and the Beethoven House in Bonn have developed the mobile exhibition "BTHVN on Tour", which can be seen in concert halls around the world in 2019 and 2020. Using original exhibits and high-quality facsimiles produced especially for this exhibition, visitors will be able to gain an insight into Beethoven's life and work using multimedia technology. These include one of Beethoven's original ear trumpets and an original print from Andy Warhol's Beethoven series from 1987.
Because of these irreplaceable exhibits, too, the exhibition logistics must meet the highest demands. The exhibits are packed in specially manufactured transport crates in which they are protected from temperature fluctuations and vibrations. The DHL SmartSensor technology is used during shipping to continuously monitor the fragile items and ensure consistently optimal transport conditions.

Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, which will celebrate its 275th anniversary in 2018, is the world's largest travelling orchestra with 185 musicians. Its concerts are the stuff of legend. During the orchestra's concert tours, DHL, as the Official Logistics Partner, is responsible for ensuring that around six tonnes of freight, including more than one hundred musical instruments, some of which are very valuable, are transported safely and on time from one venue to the next. Using temperature-controlled containers, DHL makes sure that the instruments, some of which are irreplaceable, reach their destination under optimum conditions, whether on the road or in the air, and also handles all customs formalities.
Exhibitionism - The Rolling Stones
"Exhibitionism" is the Rolling Stones' first exhibition. Featuring over 500 unique exhibits from the band's archives, including instruments, legendary stage costumes and band members' tour journals, the exhibition takes visitors on a journey through over 50 years of Rolling Stones history - and by extension through the history of Rock 'n' Roll. Since premiering in London in 2016, the exhibition has visited New York, Chicago, Las Vegas and Nashville, and will travel to Sydney later in 2018. The global tour of the exhibition will have reached at least 12 cities by 2020.
DHL has been involved in Formula E as Official Logistics Partner since the establishment of Formula E and has thus contributed to launching the world's first Formula E Championship with electrically powered vehicles. In the Formula E series, which is the brainchild of Jean Todt, the president of the world governing body of motorsport, the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), ten teams with two drivers and four electric vehicles each, compete against each other on temporary city-center street circuits. As an innovative motor racing series, Formula E has a high sustainability profile and is intended to promote electromobility as a future-oriented alternative to traditionally powered vehicles. As such, DHL's involvement in Formula E highlights the sustainability strategy of the Deutsche Post DHL Group.
DHL has been the logistics service provider for Formula 1 for more than 35 years and has been the Official Logistics Partner since 2004. In this capacity, DHL ensures that around 2,000 tonnes of freight, including motor vehicles, tires, fuel and also television and broadcasting equipment as well as other equipment, reach the racing circuit on time at the 21 race track venues of the Formula 1 Drivers' Championship.
As a sponsor, DHL also leverages Formula 1 as a marketing platform in order to promote the company's core competency and global efficiency, and to strengthen the DHL brand. Attracting more than 1.7 billion viewers in more than 200 countries, Formula 1 has a unique annual reach and relevance in (motor) racing and enables DHL to showcase its highly-specialized services and the know-how it as developed over several decades in the areas of motor sport and the automotive industry.

A tight racing calendar with race venues around the world comprising valuable, highly sensitive equipment calls for innovative, customized logistics services. Some of the solutions DHL has developed for Formula 1 are now also being used in other motor racing series and at other global events.
With the World Touring Car Cup (WTCR; until 2017 World Touring Car Championship/WTCC), DHL is supporting one of the most spectacular international touring car championships. The championship comprises over 30 races in ten countries on four continents, including races on traditional race tracks and street circuits.

Through the World Endurance Championship (WEC), DHL is also involved in long-distance motor racing. In the six to 24-hour races on renowned race tracks such as Silverstone, Le Mans and Nürburgring, the world's best endurance drivers have to give it their all. The WEC series conveys the spirit of the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans to the world.
DHL has been the Official Logistics Partner of the WEC since the racing series was launched in 2012 and is responsible for transporting racing vehicles and equipment to races overseas.
DHL's expertise is not confined to racing on four wheels and in the air; the company is also actively involved in motorcycle racing. Since 2015, DHL has been involved as Official Logistics Partner in the legendary MotoGPTM racing series, whose history dates back to 1949, making it the oldest motorsport series in the world. DHL transports 900 individual pieces of equipment, including 80 motorcycles and weighing 370 tonnes, for the teams and the championship organizers to the 19 championship races on four continents.
