Deutsche Post DHL Group and the global network working to expand educational opportunity, Teach For All, announced today that they will be extending their successful partnership for another three years. The two organizations are reaffirming their commitment to providing all children and adolescents the opportunity to attain an excellent education, regardless of background or economic status.
Teach For All is a global network of 40 independent, locally led and funded partner organizations that work at the national level to expand educational opportunity and shape a generation of local leaders who will work to ensure that all children can fulfill their potential. Teach For All supports the academic development of children and adolescents, in particular of those from socially disadvantaged backgrounds. Since its establishment in 2007, the Teach For All network has placed over 75,000 teaching participants in schools worldwide, reaching more than nine million students. Around 60 percent of the network's nearly 50,000 global alumni leaders continue to work in education, both inside and outside the classroom.
Through the partnership, Deutsche Post DHL Group will provide support to the global organization Teach For All and 10 of its national partners: Enseñá por Argentina, Teach For Bangladesh, Enseña Chile, Teach First Deutschland (Germany), Enseña Ecuador, Teach For India, Teach For Malaysia, Enseña Perú, Teach for the Philippines, and Empieza por Educar (Spain). Deutsche Post DHL Group will support the network both through financial assistance and direct engagement of its employees. In 2015 alone, over 1,300 Group employees brought their professional experience and skills to bear in more than 100 partnership activities. The financial support provided by Deutsche Post DHL Group is used to further expand the Teach For All network worldwide and promote the work of these ten national partner organizations. The Group has been the largest supporter of the Teach First Deutschland initiative since 2009.
"We are thrilled to be extending our partnership with Deutsche Post DHL Group, which has been a vital partner in expanding educational opportunity for students internationally," said Wendy Kopp, CEO and co-Founder, Teach For All. "The financial support and the individual engagement of the Group's employees is an important component in the expansion of Teach For All's work globally and particularly in 10 of the countries where our network partners work. We are thankful for this essential support, which will help us develop outstanding teachers and leaders who will work to ensure that all children receive an excellent education and fulfill their potential."
The partnership with Teach For All is part of the GoTeach program initiated by Deutsche Post DHL Group. The Group launched GoTeach with the aim of improving educational and career prospects for young people, in particular those from socially disadvantaged backgrounds. Cooperative partnerships have been established with the strategic and global partners Teach For All and SOS Children's Villages for this purpose. GoTeach activities are supported by Group employees who share their individual experiences and skills.
