Deutsche Post DHL presents complimentary, diverse side program for the Beethovenfest 2014
- Expanded program for children and youth
- Support provided to the festival for over 10 years
Der Konzern bietet wie in jedem Jahr ein anspruchsvolles Rahmenprogramm in der Post Tower Lounge an.
Deutsche Post DHL will provide a diverse program of 26 events in its Post Tower Lounge for the Beethovenfest in 2014, in addition to its overall financial support of the festival. With this sophisticated complimentary program, DPDHL hopes to encourage visitors to embrace classical music in all its diversity. The 2014 program is based on a successful pilot program in 2013 and will be rounded off with events dedicated to "Kids and Classicism" (Kinder und Klassik).
"Our cultural offer is geared toward lovers of classical music and is free of charge, as is the case every year," said Christof Ehrhart, Head of Corporate Communications and Responsibility at Deutsche Post DHL. "We also hope to create new enthusiasts out of those who are not yet fans of the classical tradition. That is why we are particularly pleased to be able to offer additional events for our young guests, so that they can not only experience classical music but also actively help to create it."
Program offers a large spectrum of different music styles
The 26 events at the Post Tower Lounge will run from September 7 until October 3 of this year and will cover a wide spectrum of different musical styles. Deutsche Post DHL would like to extend an open invitation to its jazz matinees held every Sunday just outside the Post Tower. This year, the program also includes public readings from the texts by Shakespeare, Schiller, Cobain or Beethoven, with musical accompaniment. In addition, there will be a diverse range of chamber music events as well as performances by "Junge Bühne", which primarily spotlights the musical talent of the next generation. The "Kids and Classicism" events will be held on two afternoons. Children can experience either the puppet artistry of "Peter and the Wolf" performed by Petra Schuff or the German Sockenkonzert "Baroque Beasts" (Tierisch Barock) from the ensemble Nel Dolce. The program is topped off with evenings of French songs, special events dedicated to "music & conversation" and an evening with the musicians of Bonn's Silent Movie Festival. Seating is limited and prior reservations are recommended. You can make them by telephone at 0228-502010 or by sending an e-mail to www.bonnticket.de.
Open Air Event "Bühne frei für Beethoven" for amateur musicians
Deutsche Post DHL, together with the Bonn Beethoven festival, Bürger für Beethoven (an association that promotes Beethoven in the city of his birth), as well as the Bonn School of Music and the Ludwig van B. network, will once again support the open air event this year called "Bühne frei für Beethoven": Over 1,000 students from Bonn and the surrounding region will transform downtown Bonn into a huge concert stage on September 6, 2014. Deutsche Post DHL is also making sure that music fans can watch and hear the first three of Beethoven's nine symphonies performed live by the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. The concerts will be simulcast on the big screen in the market square in Bonn on September 7, 2014.
