The ADAC Postbus is expanding its long-distance bus network. Beginning in mid-August 2014, 30 destinations will be added to the schedule. Coinciding with the beginning of summer vacation in many states in Germany, "The Bus for Germany" will also service the cities of Aachen, Aschau, Bamberg, Bayreuth, Bernau, Chemnitz, Darmstadt, Freiburg, Gießen, Günzburg, Heidelberg, Jena, Kiel, Koblenz, Landshut, Lübeck, Mainz, Mönchengladbach, Montabaur, Prien am Chiemsee, Regensburg, Rosenheim, Rostock und Rostock-Warnemünde, Schkeuditz (near Halle/Leipzig), Siegen, Singen and Soltau. And for the first time in its young history, the ADAC Postbus will cross the border, offering travel to two major cities outside Germany: Strasburg (France) and Zürich (Switzerland). The expansion doubles the joint intercity bus service run by Deutsche Post and ADAC, connecting a total of 60 cities, including many attractive destinations for travelers, popular university cities and tourist attractions in Bavaria and near the Baltic Sea.
Furthermore, a number of express connections will considerably reduce travel time on the following lines:
- From Münster and Dortmund to Munich
- Hamburg - Hanover - Bamberg - Munich
- Berlin - Frankfurt - Heidelberg - Stuttgart
- Cologne - Dortmund - Münster - Hamburg - Kiel
Two cities outside Germany
A new line in the network will travel from the Rhineland (in part via Strasburg) to Freiburg. In addition, the current Berlin - Dresden line will be combined with another line, which will connect Bremen and Hamburg with Dresden. A new west-east connection will travel along the A4 interstate highway from Frankfurt/M. to Dresden via Erfurt, Jena and Chemnitz as well as another line from Munich to Dresden via Landshut, Regensburg and Chemnitz. As a result, the ADAC Postbus will connect 60 cities on 15 lines starting in August.
The new bus timetable, which will be valid as of mid August, includes new departure and arrival times that better reflect passenger travel behavior. To coincide with the launch of the new bus schedule, a special introductory offer is now available: anyone who purchases a ticket for one of the new destinations in the next 30 days until the end of July will receive a 30% rebate.
High quality confirmed
The ADAC Postbus is a joint venture between Deutsche Post and ADAC since November 2013. The ADAC Postbus has been in operation in Germany since November 2013.
