DHL to be sole logistics partner of the Leipzig Trade Fair
- DHL Trade Fairs & Events awarded the contract again
- Trade fair organizer and logistics specialist agree on a new five-year partnership
DHL Trade Fair & Events has shown itself to be a solid, reliable partner in recent years.
DHL Trade Fairs & Events, a business unit of DHL Freight, has once again been awarded the contract to provide logistics services for the Leipzig Trade Fair. The contract will run for five years. In contrast to previous years, DHL is now the sole logistics partner for the entire trade fair, reflecting the organizers' desire for a long-term partnership.
"DHL Trade Fair & Events has shown itself to be a solid, reliable partner in recent years. We wanted to extend and intensify this partnership due to their innovative system and the additional services that they provide. The advantages of this partnership will also benefit our customers and exhibitors," said Markus Geisenberger, CEO of Leipziger Messe GmbH.
Traditional transport services and value-added services
By signing the new agreement, DHL will remain responsible for providing logistical services on the grounds of the Leipzig Trade Fair. These include traditional transport services as well as value-added services like customs clearance, temporary warehousing and trade fair organization. The company also uses an innovative IT system, which played into the organizers' decision to go with a single logistics provider.
"Germany's trade fair market is the most important one in the world. Being the official freight forwarder of the Leipzig Trade Fair is an excellent reference and also strategically important for our growth as a company - this is something that will benefit all of our DHL Trade Fairs & Events offices around the world. Our objective is to be the logistics partner for all of the world's major trade fairs. Leipzig is an important step along the way," noted Vincenzo Scrudato, CEO of DHL Trade Fair & Events.
DHL Trade Fair & Events has branches in Frankfurt, Hanover, Cologne and Leipzig, and serves all other German trade fair cities. The business unit has a global network with branches around the world, including in Birmingham, Geneva, Istanbul, Moscow, Mumbai, Oslo, Shanghai, Stockholm, Verona and Vienna.
