Online Pension Service now even faster and more informative

The redesigned and expanded online Pension Service portal from Deutsche Post at www.rentenservice.de is now even easier to use.
The Pension Service ensures that some 25 million pensions are paid out to more than 19 million recipients each month. "Approximately 15 percent of the pension recipients have changes in their address or account number to report each year," says Uwe Ringling, head of the Pension Service branch. This process is now even faster for customers: "We have cut the number of steps required for change notification via our Internet platform in half," says Ringling. More and more people are choosing to conveniently report changes over the Internet. The number of seniors filing their own change reports, for example, is now ten times higher than last year. "We haven't yet reached our goal - but this shows that we are on the right path," says Ringling. The Pension Service receives an average of 2.7 million change notifications per year.
That is not the only new feature being launched by the Pension Service, however. The entire Pension Service offer is being expanded with tips on senior lifestyles and lots of helpful information. One special highlight is the ever-changing "topic of the month" rubric. Key issues on which the Pension Service will focus here include "Tax liability for pensioners," "Retirement at 67" and "Inheriting and bequeathing - how to do it right." The information segment of the portal naturally contains the latest news, legal amendments and a direct link to Deutsche Rentenversicherung (German Pension Fund) as well as fascinating, fun-to-read articles on the world of active pensioners and seniors.
By expanding the portal, the Pension Service is joining various initiatives from the German federal government and the EU in seeking to make it easier for seniors to use the Internet.
