DHL Poland: 100 Servicepoints in operation
- Dynamic development of DHL Servicepoint network
- Range includes 35 locations around Poland
- Almost 400 % increase in the number of shipments sent monthly
DHL Express (Poland) reached an important milestone in developing a strong network of DHL Servicepoints with the recent opening of the country's 100th point. The Servicepoint is located inside of one of the largest commercial centers in Katowice, the Silesia City Center.
"Cooperation with DHL started in September 2007. The service is becoming more popular each day with a lot of packages being sent abroad, e.g. to China and Australia," said Monika Magner, Office Manager in the Silesia City Center, manager for the Katowice Information Point where the DHL Servicepoint is located.
"DHL prepared detailed procedures for servicing shipments. This made the program easy to start up and implement. It also facilitated the job of people employed at our information point and helped with effective employee training. The margin obtained from sending packages is an additional income for our company, without added costs," Magner said.
Development of DHL Servicepoint network started in 2006. By October of last year, 17 points had opened in 8 cities, operating in cooperation with 6 partners. A year later, in October 2007, DHL Servicepoint network had grown to over 100 locations all over Poland. Its coverage includes 35 large and small cities. Forty partners have joined the network. Interest in courier services offered within the scope of DHL Servicepoint has increased significantly, which is indicated by the number of packages sent monthly. Comparing October 2007 with an analogous period in 2006, the increase amounted to almost 400 percent. DHL Servicepoint services are used mainly by individual customers and small and medium companies. Most often customers send documents and gifts in this manner.
"After one year of operation of Servicepoints, I can say that we are happy with the results. We offered the customers a new product on the Polish market - DHL Express4You and we are happy to see its popularity. The numbers are increasing, both with respect to the number of shipments sent from individual points and to our greater geographic coverage," said Piotr Buczkowski, Deputy President for Sales and Marketing in DHL Express (Poland). "The experience we gained during this year will definitely be used in further developing of our network. Our plans are ambitious. By the end of 2008, the DHL Servicepoint network will have 225 points."
Development of the DHL Servicepoint network in Poland is related to implementing a global development strategy of First Choice "DHL - First Choice Company for the Customer." The DHL Servicepoint network increases services offered to individual customers and small companies (the so-called SOHO - Small Office - Home Office).
