Deutsche Post and Bayer Start International CooperationBonn, 04/04/2006, 11:30 AM CEST
Deutsche Post and Bayer Business Services have signed an agreement for various activities in document logistics. The new cooperation lays the foundation for global worldwide cooperation between the companies in this field.
Deutsche Post and Bayer Business Services signed a framework agreement on March 29. The first step of the cooperation, which is valid for all subsidiaries of Bayer worldwide, covers a service package of systems solutions from Deutsche Post for processing invoices received at Bayer. As a central contact partner and general contractor, Deutsche Post offers Bayer Business Services its services in the field of processing and scanning of incoming invoices, reading invoice data, reconciliation with master, order and goods receipt data, and physical archiving. By expanding the cooperation step by step, Deutsche Post and Bayer Business Services intend to process over one million documents each year.
The framework agreement is consistently oriented toward international cooperation. The new partners do not intend to create any individual solutions for specific countries, but rather to work together everywhere on the basis of mutual standards and uniform processes. This is guaranteed by a central management and coordination of all activities by Bayer Business Services and Deutsche Post in Germany.
"This cooperation in invoice receipt processing lays the foundation for an efficient and global collaboration in the field of document logistics," says Reinhard Pranke, Member of the Divisional Board MAIL of Deutsche Post. "The services of Deutsche Post are an ideal complement to our highly developed processes for handling incoming invoices," adds Bayer Business Services Executive Board Chairman Andreas Resch. "Now we are in a position to offer our integrated invoicing services to our customers anywhere in the world."
