Deutsche Post World Net is taking part in the World Youth Day with a panel discussion at the foot of the Post Tower in Bonn. Corporate Board Member Frank Appel and Diarmuid Martin, Archbishop of Dublin, as well as WYD helpers Anne Kathrin Keller and Josef Ferdinand Haschke will discuss issues like business and ethics, the consequences of globalization and the meaning of social and ethical values for global companies on August 19, 2005. All World Youth Day participants are invited to join in this discussion with their questions, concerns and criticisms in a spirit of open dialog. The event will begin at 2 p.m. and will be broadcast live over the Internet.
As the official logistics partner of the World Youth Day, Deutsche Post World Net has taken over the realization and support of numerous transport and courier services through its subsidiary, DHL. This includes the transport of 500,000 pilgrims' packs to the Cologne archdiocese, and the bell for the concluding mass on the Marienfeld near Cologne, among others. Furthermore, DHL will set up a mobile logistics center for the WYD press center, offering courier and express services for the journalists there. Deutsche Post will also make presently unused buildings available to WYD participants as accommodations.
