TÜV Certificate for Postpaket items
- DHL Express meets international standards with its quality management

TÜV, the testing and certification organization, has certified that DHL Express Germany meets international quality standards by awarding it DIN EN ISO 9001 : 2000 certification for the parcel operations area. Following the introduction of the new quality management system PROMEX (Process-oriented Management System Express), every last detail of DHL parcel production was audited for a period of four weeks and given the thumbs up. Dr. Joachim Rau, Head of the QM Systems Certification Department at RWTÜV Systems GmbH, presented the certificate to Wolfgang P. Albeck, a Member of the DHL Express Germany Divisional Board, who is responsible for parcel and express operations.
"For us, customer satisfaction is the most important yardstick. We need to respond to this requirement in a flexible way with our processes and structures, and continually readapt. The certificate shows that we are on the right track. It is both a milestone and a responsibility for us," Albeck said at the presentation ceremony.
Around 19,000 staff at 13 branches, 33 hubs and more than 240 delivery bases were involved in the introduction and embedding of PROMEX. "It is the remarkable commitment shown by our staff that has made it possible to implement a quality management system of this type in such a large organization in a very short time. That is a unique achievement in European logistics," Albeck emphasized.With PROMEX, DHL Express has created an excellent platform for implementing process improvements efficiently and consistently. "Quality is the best sales argument. Keeping to deadlines and providing good service is beneficial to the customer and creates confidence in the services we provide," Albeck added.Dr. Joachim Rau from TÜV Nord also showed that he was impressed by the new quality management system: "With PROMEX, you have developed a powerful tool that is already having an impact."
