LifeConEx, the joint venture company launched by DHL Danzas Air & Ocean and Lufthansa Cargo, has selected Envirotainer as a preferred provider for active temperature controlled air containers. LifeConEx will use Envirotainer containers to support its integrated end-to-end temperature-controlled transportation solutions for the Life Sciences industry.
LifeConEx represents the combined life sciences competence of both DHL Danzas Air & Ocean and Lufthansa Cargo. Its mission is to offer a new level of service standards and quality to companies in the Life Sciences industry that integrates logistics solutions for their worldwide shipments.
DHL Danzas Air & Ocean has had a close working relationship with Envirotainer since it developed the first active temperature-controlled air cargo container 10 years ago. Now the relationship with Envirotainer is expanding to the new company LifeConEx. "Envirotainer is the market leader in temperature-controlled air cargo containers and is an ideal partner for LifeConEx. We are the first company to virtually integrate the operating standards of the airline, ground handling and freight forwarding service providers to create more value for shippers of life sciences products.
Envirotainer products and services support our mission and provide the product integrity and global network that are essential to support the requirements of LifeConEx and our customers in the life sciences sector", stated Robert Krautheim, CEO of LifeConEx.
Magnus Welander, CEO of Envirotainer, said: "We have established a proven track record with DHL Danzas Air & Ocean and Lufthansa Cargo over many years and we are delighted to be the preferred supplier of temperature-controlled air cargo containers for LifeConEx. This is an exciting venture that shares our commitment to ensure better overall service quality for healthcare companies around the globe."
Customers of LifeConEx and the Life Sciences industry include pharmaceutical, biotech and healthcare enterprises. LifeConEx says they benefit considerably from the seamless end-to-end logistics service. The integration of standardized processes and systems provided by LifeConEx will result in a higher level of delivery performance and reduction of preventable service failures for temperature-sensitive products.
LifeConEx will use its expertise in the Life Sciences sector and its transportation and logistics capabilities to improve "order to delivery" cycle times and help customers reduce their total supply chain costs.
