- Special price for the online franking of DHL parcels on German Unification Day
You can now frank mail, small packages and parcels round the clock via the Internet. The pre-paid postage is printed out quickly and easily from your own PC using the online franking solution STAMPIT WEB. With STAMPIT WEB, Deutsche Post and DHL are setting new global standards together for parcel franking. After eBay sellers were already able to frank mail since February and likewise DHL parcels as of July, this service is now available to all customers under www.stampit.de. This makes STAMPIT WEB the first integrated franking solution from mail to parcel that has been selfdeveloped and launched on the market by a postal and express corporation. The solution has been implemented by the long-time IT partner GFT Technologies AG.
Registration is free-of-charge for all interested persons who register for STAMPIT WEB by October 31, 2005. As of November, a one-time registration fee of three euros will be charged.
In a special campaign by DHL under the motto "Unified Price for Unification Day," the franking of DHL parcels up to 20 kilograms via STAMPIT is a bargain at 6.49 euros. This offer is only available until October 10, 2005.
Parallel to STAMPIT WEB, customers also have the option of franking DHL parcels with the new CD-based versions STAMPIT BUSINESS 3.0 and STAMPIT HOME 2.0. These versions, which have been expanded to add parcel franking, will be available as of October 4 at the same low price from the retail outlets or the eFiliale of Deutsche Post and at specialist stores. If you are already a STAMPIT BUSINESS customer, you will receive an automatic software update directly via the web.
It is possible to frank parcels online for all shipments throughout Germany and Europe. The same service is available for mail addressed to recipients outside of Europe. In addition, the parcel tracing service for DHL parcels is also available via STAMPIT and the DHL-Website www.dhl.de.
Using STAMPIT WEB, postage is printed together with the recipient address on labels or directly onto the envelopes. What you need is a standard PC with printer and Internet Explorer 5.5 or 6.0 as a browser. Access options via other Internet browsers will be created gradually in the months to come. As additional software, the free-of-charge Adobe Reader from Version 6.02. is required. Following online registration, the postage can be purchased and loaded into the virtual personal postage account; the postage will be directly debited from your bank account. For each franked item, the postage will be deducted from the personal postage account.
