Contains 63,000 changes and approximately 3,000 new zip codesBonn, 07/26/2005, 11:30 AM CEST
The new zip code directory contains approx. 63,000 changes made to the first edition, which resulted from the renaming of streets, new place names or new city developments. There are almost 3,000 new zip codes in the directory. Along with a street and city name directory there is also a directory in the current edition for bulk recipient zip codes and Packstations, which each have their own zip codes. The book also contains an extensive service section with information on postal products and services.
The new postcode book will be launched with a print run of three million copies. In the event that demand exceeds this first print run, more copies will be printed.
Zip codes can also be looked up online. Furthermore, customers may request zip code information form the customer service hotline at 01802 3333 (EUR0.06 per call from a landline phone in Germany). Interested parties may also order a wall map and/or an electronic version of the directory on CD-ROM via Deutsche Post's online offering.
