Deutsche Post supports volunteer partyBonn, 08/19/2005, 11:30 AM CEST
More than 15,000 volunteer helpers are expected at Cologne's Tanzbrunnen open-air venue on Monday, August 22, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. for a huge farewell party organized by the World Youth Day and supported by Deutsche Post as a thank-you for volunteering their time for the event.
Deutsche Post will be there with its international pen pal club, LETTERNET, under the motto "Die Welt per Brief entdecken" (Discovering the world by mail). The promotion: the volunteers can have their picture taken, have the photos printed out as postcards and mail them for free to friends and loved ones all around the world. Interested persons can take advantage of this offer at Deutsche Post's "Weltkugel-Stand" (Globe Booth).
On top of that, there will be a LETTERNET raffle. First prize is a trip for two to Rome (flight, accommodations and exclusive tour through the Vatican Gardens included). Second prize is a yellow scooter with the Posthorn (Deutsche Post's logo). Third, fourth and fifth prize-winners will receive the book, "Frei vor Gott" (Free before God), compiled and hand-designed by Cardinal Lehmann.
LETTERNET is present in more than 100 countries on every continent. The service has helped people in Germany and all over the world find a pen pal since 1997. Members receive the free club magazine four times a year. More information on this can be found online at: www.letternet.de
