This Friday is "Free Parcel Friday"
Anniversary special: Send a parcel with DHL for free on February 25Bonn, 02/20/2005, 10:30 AM CET
Deutsche Post is celebrating its anniversary and wants customers to join the celebrations. Every household in Germany can send a parcel to anywhere else in the country for free on February 25. In honor of the tenth anniversary of the stock corporation, the Deutsche Post subsidiary DHL is giving every household a DHL anniversary parcel stamp. Customers can affix this stamp to a parcel and send it free of charge from any Deutsche Post retail outlet or one of the more than 400 Packstations nationwide. The anniversary stamp is valid only on February 25 for parcels of up to 20 kilograms. A total of 35 million German households will receive the anniversary stamp in the mail this week.
Deutsche Post and its subsidiary DHL are using this special offer to thank their customers for the long-standing trusting relationship. Shipping parcels is as easy as usual: Fill out the DHL parcel stamp, affix it to the parcel and hand the parcel in. As a standard parcel, it is insured for up to EUR 500, can weigh up to 20 kilograms and may be up to 120 cm x 60 cm x 60 cm (rectangular) in size. Customers can check on the delivery status of their parcels by entering the shipment number in the appropriate field on www.dhl.de/sendungsverfolgung.
Deutsche Post is optimally equipped to prove its performance capability as an innovative and modern company: mobile cash register systems and special posting centers are ready in the retail outlets. Special shifts have been arranged for parcel delivery and in the freight centers . In one retail outlet in Cologne, customers will even be greeted by a very well-known "postal worker": Christoph Gottschalk will be personally accepting parcels at the retail outlet in the WDR Arcades.
