DHL Takes over Express Dispatch Services for Schering
- Global bartering for research projects, clinics and internal employees
- 25,000 express parcels annually
The Berliner Schering AG recently turned over their entire national and international express shipping needs to the hands of DHL. With the aid of the express and logistic specialists at the Deutsche Post World Net Group, supplies are shipped to clinics, doctor's offices and hospitals along with the Schering subsidiaries within Germany and around the globe. At the same time, the subsidiaries also count on the services of DHL for their express parcels to Europe.
As an example, DHL transports vital data carriers per express mail from a research project with US-American, Brazilian, Argentinean and Columbian hospitals to the Schering head office in Berlin on a monthly basis. Schering's central dispatch office in Berlin, along with the group's German subsidiaries and associated companies in Bergkamen, Weimar and Jena have already been placing their trust in the efficiency of DHL since early this year.
In addition to the recent business deal, DHL also organizes the regular software updates of the laptops for approximately 200 Schering field sales personnel. The employees send in their computers with DHL Express to the group-internal IT support department on a quarterly rotating basis and get them back equipped with the updated programs.
"We are pleased that Schering has placed their trust in DHL. We anticipate that this cooperation will bear fruit for both of us," says Stefan Winckelmann, Industry Sector Manager of Life Sciences from DHL. "DHL mastered this short-term cooperation launch admirably. We are looking forward to a cooperative basis that will be as exciting as it will be successful," says Maik Eckelmann, Head of Export-Import-Services at the Schering AG in Berlin.
