The winners of the Direct Mail Advertising Competition have been selected. On June 17, Deutsche Post presented twelve advertising agencies with a prize for especially creative dialog marketing campaigns. Neuland Communication from Nuremberg, Lammoth Mailkonzept from Wiesbaden, gkk DialogGroup from Frankfurt and GINGCO.NET from Brunswick took first place in the four categories. The awards ceremony was held at the Alter Hamburger Jachtclub as part of this year's event, under the motto Heiße Ideen frisch serviert... ("Hot ideas served fresh...").
A total of 481 agencies took part in the direct mailing competition and submitted 742 projects. Agencies could submit one direct mailing campaign from 2004 for each category. The award winners in regional preliminary eliminations were then sent to national finals. A supra-regional jury selected the nationwide winners in a second phase. The juries were composed of experienced advertising and dialog marketing experts like Jean-Remy von Matt (Jung von Matt), Christian Thunig (Absatzwirtschaft), Dr. Andreas Mann (Kassel University), Vera Hermes (freelance journalist), Karl-Josef Mittler (Aktion Mensch charity organization), Marco Schubert (Otto), Günther Zapf (Deutsche Post) and Dr. Jürgen Hesse (Siegfried Vögele Institut).
The best ideas from Germany were presented awards in Hamburg. Projects were evaluated for concept, creativity in graphic design and text, the sales angle, target group-specific approach and the use of additional mailing activities.
gkk DialogGroup won with a direct mail campaign for BMW AG in the "Standard" category, for personalized standard mailings. The prize for the "Open Format" category was taken home by the GINGCO.NET Werbeagentur advertising agency for their campaign for Audi AG. In the group Postwurf Spezial (partially addressed mailings), the agency Lammoth Mailkonzept won with a campaign for DiBa. Neuland Communication GmbH won the jury's hearts and took home the prize for the "Self Promotion" category.
The winners were awarded attractive cash prizes at the exclusive event in the Alter Hamburger Jachtclub. In each category, the award for first place was 3,000 euro, for second place 2000 euro, and for third place 1000 euro.
