Deutsche Post improves registered mail
International service for business and private customersBonn, 04/22/2005, 11:30 AM CEST
Effective immediately, Deutsche Post business and private customers can track their international registered mail over the Worldwide Web. This "track and trace" procedure could previously only be conducted for domestic registered mail. To do so, the customer logs on to the www.deutschepost.de/briefstatus website. Anyone registered as a business customer can access up to ten domestic and international registered items.
For example, if a customer sends a registered item to Switzerland, it can be seen on the Internet whether the item has already left the International Mail Center in Frankfurt, whether it has already been processed at the Swiss mail center, or even whether it has already been delivered. The corresponding data are electronically exchanged between the postal enterprises involved.
Track & trace is possible for items to Finland, Ireland, Iceland, Canada, New Zealand, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain and the United Kingdom. More destination countries are to follow.
