Deutsche Post and ver.di agree on training pactBonn, 02/22/2005, 10:30 AM CET
Deutsche Post and ver.di have agreed to offer 2,300 training positions per year in Germany. In addition, Deutsche Post has promised to hire 30 percent of all trainees in the years 2007 to 2009. The Group will furthermore set up a management training program for top trainees. All of these trainees will be guaranteed a position with Deutsche Post after successfully completing the final exam.
"We are thus creating clear future perspectives for nearly 7,000 young people who are searching for qualified training in a dynamic company," explained Klaus Zumwinkel, Chairman of the Management Board of Deutsche Post World Net, at the presentation of the negotiation results with ver.di today in Bonn. Deutsche Post is once again proving that it is a company which upholds its social responsiblities, added Zumwinkel.
In total, the Group trains young people in 14 different occupations. These include the professions of CEP specialist and CEP commercial clerk, which are a part of the program for the first time this year. They are replacing the former classic Deutsche Post occupations of letter/parcel deliverer and postal clerk. Deutsche Post is thus enabling the entire courier, express and parcel (CEP) service sector to offer training positions in these fields.
