Special Price Campaign for Private Parcels
Deliverers will accept parcels bearing the Freeway stampBonn Mar. , 03/23/2004, 10:30 AM CET
DHL, the Deutsche Post World Net parcel service, is launching a special price campaign for senders of private parcels. Over the course of the next few days, 23.5 million households will be receiving a voucher for the new sheet of three Freeway parcel stamps. Customers can use these stamps to send three parcels for the price of two. Freeway parcel stamps are purchased in advance, just like regular stamps. The address must be entered, the stamp affixed to the parcel and the parcel delivered to the postal retail outlet. Parcel delivery agents will also accept Freeway parcels. This service will be especially beneficial for postal customers in the country, as the deliverers bring both letters and parcels in these regions and thus visit each house on a nearly daily basis. In some larger cities, delivery is possible around the clock at the Packstations.
Freeway parcel stamps, which are valid indefinitely, were previously available in sheets of 10, 50 and 100 stamps only. The new sheet of three stamps is also worthwhile for households that send only a small number of parcels. Freeway can be used to send parcels up to five kilograms anywhere in Germany, heavier shipments can be franked for up to 20 kilograms with additional stamps. Just like normal postal parcels, Freeway parcels are insured for up to EUR 500. And while the cost of a parcel is EUR 6.70, that price is reduced to just EUR 6.50 with a Freeway parcel stamp from the new sheet of three stamps - and even further reduced to EUR 4.33 with the discount campaign. Upon presentation of the voucher, those who want to take advantage of the campaign pay only EUR 13 for the sheet of three stamps (instead of EUR 19.50) from March 29 to April 3, 2004.
