Available immediately: Deutsche Post's newest generation of digital machine franking
Frankit has just made franking even easierBonn, 04/06/2004, 11:30 AM CEST
Deutsche Post is offering its small business customers a new generation of franking machines under the FRANKIT product name. The users of these machines enjoy numerous benefits, since franking becomes much more convenient via increased user-friendliness and simplified postage purchasing. Another plus point for customers: no more traipsing off to the postal retail outlet - with the help of the machine's built-in modem, postage can be directly uploaded over the Internet.
The FRANKIT technology encrypts all necessary franking data into a 2D matrix code. This code is automatically read by all Deutsche Post mail sorting centers and can be used to frank items sent with additional special letter services.
The digital franking matrix code gives the user a wide range of ways to analyze items sent. The new generation of franking machines can upon request record the number of items franked, the customer numbers, the special services elected, if any, and the responses. Until now only company logos or sender information could be printed as part of the actual franking. After choosing to use FRANKIT, customers can select their FRANKIT-compatible franking machine from among the selections of five manufacturers.
Deutsche Post is running a special offer for the first 10,000 companies who replace their conventional franking machines with a new FRANKIT machine; depending on the machine's capacity, companies may receive a gross amount of up to EUR 1,500.00.
