HAKA Kunz receives the 2004 DHL Environmental Award
Consistent integration of Postbox into logistics processesBerlin/Bonn, 10/22/2004, 11:30 AM CEST
Deutsche Post World Net will be presenting this year's DHL Environmental Award to the company HAKA Kunz GmbH for its exemplary efforts in environmental protection and sustainable operation, and its promotion of environmentally-friendly transport options. HAKA Kunz is being honored for the "consistent integration of Postbox into its logistics processes and the related lessening of environmental impacts through the use of alternative transport packaging." Dr. Peter Kruse, Corporate Board Member for Express Europe at Deutsche Post World Net, presented the prize to HAKA Kunz CEO, Siegfried Fitzel, at the BVL German Logistics Congress on October 22, 2004.
HAKA Kunz, founded 50 years ago in Waldenbuch (Swabia), is today one of Germany's largest direct sales companies. Their high quality household cleaning, laundry detergent and personal hygiene products can be purchased only from well-trained home consultants. HAKA Kunz switched to Postbox for its customer deliveries at the end of 2000. This smart and innovative reusable solution from Deutsche Post plays an important part in HAKA's environmental thinking, which the company also pursues for its products. HAKA now sends the bulk of its items in the Postbox. The company uses it right from the start during the commissioning of the shipping orders, thus making repacking a thing of the past. Despite ongoing wait-and-see customer behavior, the use of Postbox enabled HAKA to increase both revenues and shipping volumes.
