Deutsche Post presents first Human Resources and Social ReportBonn, 07/20/2004, 11:30 AM CEST
Today in Bonn, Deutsche Post presented the first Human Resources and Social Report in the company's history. "In the last 14 years, Deutsche Post has developed from a domestic public authority to one of the largest high-performing logistics companies in the world. On the one hand, the Human Resources and Social Report looks back on how personnel management - in particular in the past year - has been shaped. At the same time, it is a basis for working on current and future challenges, for example against the backdrop of Group integration," said Walter Scheurle, Deutsche Post Board Member for Personnel, at the presentation in Bonn.
"The individual. Creative force of the company." is the title of the Human Resources and Social Report. At the center of the report are the content and goals of Deutsche Post World Net's human resources strategy, as well as the activities and achievements of its 380,000 employees.
"Our mission as 'human resources manager' at Deutsche Post World Net is, together with all employees, to make contributions in terms of targets and earnings to enhance the value of the Group," said Scheurle in explaining the human resources strategy. A significant component is the regular dialog with social partners, the works councils, and the trade union. Among other reasons, this is also why the massive measures for rebuilding the Group have been so successful. This dialog principle will continue to be pursued further against the backdrop of international integration. For example, an agreement on the creation of a joint body of employee and management representatives of the companies belonging to Deutsche Post from 26 European countries was signed in Brussels last summer. "This continues our successful concept of cooperation with social partners at a European level as well, because we do not see a danger in cooperation as partners, but rather an important opportunity for our long-term corporate success," said Scheurle in closing.
