DHL auctions the Berlin Olympic Stadium for one day
- Auction of the new stadium in aid of the Berlin Sports Foundation

It's a one-off: On the occasion of the opening ceremony of theBerlin Olympic Stadium on 31 July 2004, DHL will use eBay, the globalonline marketplace, to auction the entire stadium for one day of use.The auction will start at 6 pm on 21 July 2004 on www.eBay.de. EBayusers throughout the world will be able to take part in this uniqueauction over a period of ten days. The proceeds will go to the BerlinSports Foundation. The winner of the auction will be named by JohannesB. Kerner presenting the big opening ceremony on 31 July 2004.

Ifyou want to place a bid in the auction, you must send a fax with a copyof your ID card, your eBay membership name and a telephone number forany queries to fax number 030/37 59 22 40 by 5 pm on 30 July 2004. Thisfax will then be considered as a binding declaration of consent forparticipation in the auction.

The opening ceremony will mark the Berlin OlympicStadium as one of the most modern and architecturally superior sportsand event arenas in the world. The Berlin Sports Foundation wasestablished by the Berlin State Sports Association. It aims to promotetalented, young athletes from Berlin.
