The quality management at Deutsche Post Direkt has been awarded the ISO certificate 9001:2000 from TÜV Saarland. The Deutsche Post subsidiary received the certificate for the processing of Riester pension applications in the Document-Reading Center in Mannheim. The certificate verifies the fulfillment of international quality standards.
Deutsche Post Direkt has been processing the Riester pension applications for the Pension Service Business Division of Deutsche Post since spring 2003. Each month, the Pension Service Business Division handles approximately 25 million payments to 18 million pensioners for the German pension funds. It furthermore acts as an outsourcing partner for companies with their own company pension schemes.
The incoming Riester pension applications are scanned at the Deutsche Post Direkt Document-Reading Center in Mannheim and transmitted to the client as data records together with the digital photos and original applications. Some 20,000 applications are processed in this manner each month. The service eliminates the need for manual input of data at the Pension Service Business Division, leading to a significant reduction in processing time.
The ISO certificate awarded to Deutsche Post Direkt verifies that the entire handling process - from the delivery of the documents to the shipping of the data records, digital pictures and original applications - conforms to international quality standards. All processes within the project are stipulated and recorded in the quality management documentation. Deutsche Post Direkt guarantees its customers process security and uniform high quality standards thanks to its established quality management system.
