DHL Danzas Air & Ocean has won a major contract with BMW in South Korea. Deutsche Post World Net's international air and ocean freight specialist has designed, constructed and is now operating from an approximately 47,000 sqm distribution centre located in the port area of Incheon. The contract with BMW, the most successful foreign brand in South Korea, will initially run for five years. The Vehicle Distribution Centre is the largest of its kind in Korea.
BMW relies on DHL's services, from vehicle storage and warehouse management to the transport, customs clearance and delivery of the vehicles to Asian dealers. The high-tech distribution centre has an approximately 35,000 sqm storage area, a 2,000 sqm inspection area, for a final check-over before delivery, and two additional buildings for further vehicle storage totalling 4,000 sqm. BMW can accommodate up to 1,600 cars in the new distribution centre, with the possibility of expansion. Around 10,000 vehicles should be delivered from Incheon each year.
