Deutsche Post in Sustainability index FTSE4Good Europe

Deutsche Post was yesterday admitted into the FTSE4Good Europe Index, meaning the company met the criteria of one of the most well-known sustainability indices, which provides an important benchmark for ecologically and socially oriented investors. The criteria of the FTSE4Good Europe incorporate activities in the areas of environmentally orientated sustainability, social responsibilities and human rights. After Humanix, this is the second stock index focused on sustainability that Deutsche Post is listed on.
"We are pleased that our operations in the areas of environmentalism and Corporate Social Responsibility, which were comprehensively represented in our Environmental Report in May 2003, have received this recognition," said Dr Monika Wulf-Mathies, head of the Policy and Environment corporate department at the Group's head office. Martin Ziegenbalg, head of the Investor Relations Corporate Department is also certain, "We consider the admission into FTSE4Good Europe to be a clear recommendation of our company to sustainability orientated investors."
Along with Deutsche Post there are altogether 24 German companies currently listed on the FTSE4Good Europe Index, 20 of which are listed on the German DAX.
