Stampit goes to school
Deutsche Post's innovative instructional packet for vocational schools and specialised training programmes01/15/2003, 12:00 PM CET
Stampit, Deutsche Post's PC franking software, is already installed in more than 40,000 PC's in Germany. The innovative service is used by thousands of satisfied customers. Stampit makes Deutsche Post the first European postal organisation to offer franking using PC and printer. Now Stampit is also going to school.
Stampit & Schule is a new Deutsche Post instructional packet - especially geared to vocational schools and specialised training programmes - that adds a contemporary touch to instruction in office organisation, word processing and mail room operations. The instructional packet was developed in close cooperation with schools and teachers, and is optimally geared to educational requirements. The materials were successfully tested in various pilot schools, and are now available to all schools at no charge.
Among the instructional materials are an informational brochure, a PowerPoint presentation, as well as teaching transparencies. The students can try out PC franking in a real-life scenario, with the help of a practice CD ROM. The school software is a special practice and presentation version that simulates the complete postage purchase and franking process, without generating real "Internet postage stamps" and going online. This saves schools the related costs, particularly those of Internet access. The instructional use helps a prospective sales force to gain early familiarity with "digital" postage stamps, and to come into contact with new technologies.
