Deutsche Post presents Wilhelm Schlote's new bookBonn, 12/16/2003, 10:30 AM CET
Artist Wilhelm Schlote's new book shows pictorial communication at its nicest. With poetically and creatively illustrated picture stories, he keeps in contact with his granddaughter Charlotte in Cologne by letter. These pictorial examples prove how private communication by letter can be more interesting and versatile than other means of communication.
The largest postal company in Europe, Deutsche Post, offers support in many ways. For example, the company sent out over 2 million letters - with the motto "Jeder Brief ist ein Geschenk" (every letter is a gift) - which gave ideas and suggestions for Christmas greetings. A response rate of over 30 percent from the core target audience impressively suggests high interest in private mail traffic. People interested in writing letters can get suggestions all year round at www.briefeschreiben.de.
Deutsche Post is also active internationally. The company has been able to report constant success with its international pen pal club LETTERNET since it was established in 1997. There are currently over 250,000 active Letternetties in more than 100 countries. With the motto "discover the world through letters", numerous discussion topics, and an individual website at www.letternet.de, serve to activate letter writing and motive participation in the international letter network.
This edition of Wilhelm Schlote's book gets into these activities seamlessly. The book costs 19.50 euros and can be ordered at:
