Bonn, Dec. 20, 2005: In its meeting on December 20, the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Post World Net appointed John Allan, 57, to the Board of Management. Allan will be in charge of the Group's enlarged logistics business following the acquisition of U.K. logistics company Exel plc. His term of office runs for the next three years. Allan, who ran Exel as Chief Executive Officer for more than 10 years, will be in charge of integrating the acquired business with Deutsche Post World Net's existing DHL Logistics Division and the combined unit's future business development. He will be located at Deutsche Post World Net's new logistics headquarters in Bracknell, near London.
"We are extremely happy John accepted the task of running the logistics business. With him, we have gained an outstanding industry expert with broad management know-how who also is among the most respected business personalities in the industry," said Deutsche Post World Net Chief Executive Officer Klaus Zumwinkel.
