DHL appoints new head for Asia-Pacific12/15/2004, 12:00 AM CET
DHL announced the appointment of Scott Price to the role of Chief Executive Officer, DHL Express Asia Pacific. Price succeeds John Mullen, who has been appointed to Deutsche Post World Net´s Management Board and concurrently Chief Executive Officer of DHL Express Americas, Asia-Pacific, EMA.
Prior to this new appointment, Price was President of DHL Express Japan, DHL´s largest market in the Asia Pacific region. Since joining DHL Express in 2002, Price has led the company´s business in Japan through a period of sustained high growth.
Under his leadership, Price steered the business in a highly competitive environment and over the years, substantially increased DHL´s market share position from No.3 to the current No.1 position.
'Under his leadership, Scott has established DHL Express firmly as the market leader in Japan, one of the most challenging markets in the region and widely perceived to be mature and of limited opportunity,' said Mullen. 'His experience and impressive track record will no doubt be invaluable as DHL charts a course of growth in the Asia Pacific.'

Prior to joining DHL, Price spent a decade with The Coca-Cola Company. During that period, he assumed various roles which included directorship in Japan, and as Director and Country Manager in Hong Kong. A native of America, Price gained a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina. He also holds a MBA and a Master of Arts in Asian studies from the University of Virginia.
