Deutsche Post reinforces communications with private investors12/14/2004, 12:00 AM CET
Deutsche Post World Net has introduced an information package that is setting new standards in terms of active communications with private shareholders. New Deutsche Post shareholders currently receive a 'welcome package' intended to help investors better understand financial data. This includes the 'Kennzahlen für Aktionäre' manual explaining key financial figures for shareholders written by Wiesbaden-based management consultancy cometis AG, an electronic annual report on CD-Rom, and publications for private investors. The manual provides information on the key financial figures that the shareholders are faced with every day. Approximately 100,000 private shareholders received this information package for the first time last summer.
People registering with the shareholder service after receiving the package will continue to receive publications for private investors. The welcome package is being sent out on a monthly basis, a process likely to be maintained through the spring of 2006. Deutsche Post World Net hopes that implementing this form of communication will help to intensify its dialog with investors, make the Group´s information offerings better known, and make the shareholders more familiar with the key indicators. 'We´re impressed by the positive response to the manual from cometis,' states Martin Ziegenbalg, Managing Director Investor Relations at Deutsche Post. 'Deutsche Post currently has around 800,000 private shareholders, who together hold 10 percent of the capital stock. In other words, private shareholders are extremely important to us, and we want to inform them just as quickly and comprehensively as we do institutional investors.'
'The manual gives investors information that will help them better evaluate the results published by listed companies. This makes it an excellent way of fostering confidence in corporations and hence in the whole issue of investing in equities,' says Michael Diegelmann, CEO of cometis AG, responsible for the book´s creation. Also very popular with investors and analysts is the Group´s Investors´ Factbook, which, in conjunction with the quarterly reports, provides a solid foundation of facts.
