Deutsche Post transports letters and parcels in Germany and is a specialist for dialog marketing, the distribution of press products and end-to-end solutions for corporate communications. In Germany we operate a nationwide transport and delivery network. In addition we also transport letters and parcels across borders, serve domestic markets abroad and provide special services above and beyond transport.
Business unit Post
Our Post business unit brings together the domestic mail business with its core products of mail communications, dialog marketing and press services, the retail outlet business and the import/export business. It also encompasses new services such as the secure digital communication services offered by E-Post and our intercity bus joint venture, the ADAC Postbus.
Business unit eCommerce - Parcel
In order to benefit from the opportunities offered by the rapidly growing e-commerce sector, the Group has bundled its domestic parcel businesses and cross-border parcel shipping into the eCommerce - Parcel business unit. We want to expand our market leadership position in logistics services for online retailing in Germany and gradually transfer this expertise to other parcel markets. Above all, DHL Parcel's established recipient services, offering customers more convenience in the shipping and receipt of their goods, will be extended in the mid-term to other European countries.
We would also like to take advantage of opportunities to offer e-commerce services in selected markets around the world. Beyond that, we intend to become the market leader for cross-border e-commerce services on the most attractive international trade lanes.
